Media Announcement: Renewal of credit provider determination
The Privacy Commissioner, Karen Curtis, has today announced the renewal of the credit provider determination concerning Indigenous Business Australia (the IBA Determination). There is no change in the terms of the determination and it will be effective for five years.
''I believe the IBA Determination is appropriate as it allows Indigenous Business Australia to maintain its current operations and service levels and to continue to access the credit reporting system in the interests of its clients.''
The Office sought input on the review of the IBA Determination from industry, consumer representatives and relevant government agencies.
"The consultation on the operation of the IBA Determination and the experience of my Office demonstrate that the IBA Determination has operated effectively and provided unanimous support for the renewal of the IBA Determination.''
