National Privacy Principles
The National Privacy Principles (NPPs) are the base line privacy standards which some private sector organisations need to comply with in relation to personal information they hold. All health service providers in the private sector need to comply with these principles.
Please click the link for a copy of the National Privacy Principles. There is also a Plain English summary of the NPPs.
More detailed information and guidance on the Office’s interpretation of the NPPs can be found in the Guidelines to the National Privacy Principles (September 2001).
