Question 1:  What is ID scanning?

Answer: ID scanning is when a business uses equipment to take an electronic copy of your ID. Your 'ID' is a document which businesses ask you to produce to help show that you are who you say you are (for example driver's licence, passport).

This answer is a summary only. For more details, see our information sheet.
