Site Changes

On 1 November 2010 the Office of the Privacy Commissioner was integrated into the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner and a new website established at www.oaic.gov.au.

Is my healthcare identifier safe?

Privacy protections are in place for the use and accessing of your IHI.

For example, healthcare providers and other entities can only use healthcare identifiers for specific purposes like providing healthcare or managing health records. Organisations using the IHI have obligations to make sure they are kept secure.
