What information will be held in the HI Service database?
A limited amount of identifying information such as, your name, date of birth, and sex will be associated with your IHI in the database maintained by the HI Service (i.e. Medicare Australia).
In some circumstances, further information may be required to ensure you are uniquely identified in that database such as: address, birth plurality and birth order.
The HI Service database will not hold any clinical information. It will hold information about who has accessed the HI Service database to obtain your IHI.
